Dear Shihan/Sensei/Senpai,

Greetings and the very best of wishes come to you from Ashihara Karate.

We are having a Mini tournament on Saturday 12 September 2015 at the Sid G Rule Primary School Hall in Grassy Park, and we would like you and your team participating with us.

This tournament will be run on the semi-contact clicker system of karate and there will be several kata and kumite divisions for male and female competitors. The divisions will be as per the A.K.I. weight/age format. For senior contestants there will be semi- and full contact matches. There will also be matches for Under 18’s in full contact.

This Championship is sanctioned by WKO-Africa and serves as a pre-selection for the WKO World Championships for seniors to be held in Thailand in February 2016 as well as a planned Juniors Invitational to be held during that time in either Thailand or India. We would certainly enjoy having you share that experience with us also.

Confirmation of your intent to participate by 05 September 2015 would be appreciated.

Entry Fees:

Competitors         :         R100.00 for one division, R150.00 for two or more divisions

Full Contact         :         R150.00

Spectators            :         Adults – R10.00   Children – R5.00

Please note that no late entries will be accepted. The entry fee for competitors must be paid in by September 05, 2015.

Starting Time:

All competitors and officials to be at the Sports Hall by 8.30am. Tournament to start at 9am.

Kumite Divisions:

All competitors will be matched by age, height, weight and belt where possible.

Age 5/6                : Two weight groups

Age 7/8                : Two weight groups

Age 9/10              : Two weight groups

Age 11/12             : Two weight groups

Age 13/14             : Two weight groups

Age 15/16             : Two weight groups

Age 17/18             : Two weight groups

Over 18                 : -55, -65, +65kg

Kata Division:

Boys and girls: Under 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years:  Adults x 3 divisions. A minimum of 4 competitors is essential for a division to run.
